Update - Volcán Tungurahua

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Due to the recent inquires we have received regarding the news of the latest volcanic activity here in Ecuador, we wanted to send out a brief update to let you know what has been going on. It has indeed been in the news here. Beginning last Friday, the Tungurahua volcano spewed ash, gas and molten rock driving thousands of evacuated villagers into nearby schools and churches in search of refuge. Tungurahua is located about 80 or so miles south of Quito, and has been increasingly active since May. The images that we have seen on TV remind us of the images from Mt. St. Helen.

The eruptions have not effected us, however we may see results of the fallout next week when we travel south to OMS’ Camp Pallatanga for our annual retreat. If you would like to read more about the recent devastation, click on the following link and select your choice of news:

We thank you for your prayers and concerns. According to the news, up to 100,000 people have lost their homes. They have lost their livestock and their land. Please pray for these people. They have worked so hard to obtain so little, and now it is gone.
