Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser August 2018   Dear Prayer Warriors, We have been pondering the words of William Carey for the past several months as we continue to move forth in our ministries while living stateside.  It seems so easy to get sidetracked by things that don't really matter or have no eternal value.  It's a constant struggle to keep our eyes fixed with an eternal perspective.  However, in the midst of our struggles, we can see that God is always faithful to use us right where we are! It's proof that it's not about us but all about God! We are so humbled and thankful to be a part of what God is doing in the hearts of our brothers and sisters in Latin America.  It's a privilege and honor to serve alongside these folks. May you be encouraged that through your prayer and financial support and God's amazing faithfulness, his people are succeeding at things that really matter. Blessings, Doug & Cindy Men For Missions - Cuba   Thank you for praying for our trip in June to meet with the Men For Missions director and his team in Cuba.  They are moving forward in growing MFM Cuba.  Please pray for Allen as he continues to build his MFM leadership team.  Pray for us as we seek to support what God is calling them to do.  We are making preparations to take a team in November.  Please pray for the team members and the work to be done.  Saturate the Nations for Christ   Thank you for praying for our time at the OMS conference.  What an encouragement it was to hear Juan Guillermo Cardona, Director of Satura Colombia, share of the expansion of Satura into other nations.  We also heard from another Colombian missionary, Oscar Jimenez, who serves as a pastor in London and the privilege we have of being part of his support team.  (Click Oscar's photo below to read more about his ministry in London and to join his support team) We led two workshops on exploring short-term missions.  One participant took the challenge and now has her passport and her church is planning their first missions conference in March 2019.  One of the greatest moments of encouragement was to see the Men For Missions national cabinet meet together to rejoice in all that God has done this past year as well as pray and seek God's direction as MFM moves into 2019. We look forward to being a part of the MFM international cabinet meetings in November.  We left the conference so excited to be a part of what OMS, MFM and Satura are doing around the world.  Returning to Colombia   We have been extended an invitation to attend and lead Men For Mission workshops at the first Satura Colombia convention. Please pray for us as we prepare for the convention. Kent Eller will be joining us, and will be traveling August 28 - September 6.  We look forward to meeting with Jonathan Tobón - Facilitator and leader of MFM-Colombia as we discuss plans for 2019.  We also have plans to meet with the translators that support our evangelism teams in the cities of Medellín and Sincelejo.   Family Time in the North Woods   What a special few days we had in the beauty of the north woods to share as a family.  It's times like this that we're able to take time to reflect on the idea that it's not always about what we do, but more about who we have raised.  It's our prayer that there will be generations of Tankersleys that love God with all their heart, soul and mind, and serve Jesus in all that they do.  Thank you for praying for our family.  1. Praise for our safe travels to Cuba in June and for for the opportunity of meeting with MFM-Cuba. 2. Please pray for the Satura Convention which will be August 31-September 2, and our travels to Colombia. 3. Pray that we will receive our religious visas for the team in November to Cuba.  Applications for the Visas will be made this month. 4. Praise the Lord for the evangelism teams that continue to go and share the Gospel to those that have not heard.  So far this year, MFM has sent 61 teams to 17 countries with 499 team members.  5.  Praise the Lord for special times with family. 6. Pray for wisdom as we expand into additional Latin American countries with MFM. Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world.
