Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser June 2019 Dear Prayer Warriors, Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Many of you (farmers) have been severely impacted by the abundant rains throughout the Midwest this Spring which will eventually impact all of us at one point.  We have been praying for you.   The months of April and May also brought abundant showers of unexpected medical challenges for several members of our family which is why you haven't heard from us in awhile. Hospital visits, doctor's appointments, numerous tests and prayer occupied so much of our waking hours. We can't begin to update you on all the details but we're thankful to report that everyone is doing better and on the road to recovery. It's these unexpected situations and circumstances that God uses in our lives as opportunities to reveal more of himself to us, trust and depend on him more and realize that we are not in control. For us, it's been a good reminder that we are not defined by the things we do, but by who we are in Christ Jesus.   It's these types of situations and circumstances that can deplete us of Christ fairly quickly if we're not consistently filling back up through His word and through prayer.   Thank you once again for standing in the gap for us and our family with unsolicited prayers. God is so faithful to provide!  Blessings, Doug & Cindy At the end of April, Doug had the opportunity to lead a small group of men into Cuba to see and encourage the work, and meet with our Men for Missions Cuban leaders.   The Cuban MFM group has led their own teams to serve on multiple short-term mission teams within Cuba. Please pray for them and the work that God is calling them to do. Annual MFM staff meetings were held at the end of May.  It's always good to come together to give God the glory for the past year and to prepare for the year to come.   The US cabinet meetings begin on Thursday.  Please pray for Randy Yoder as he presides over the meetings.   This Friday, we will join in the celebration for Warren & Velma Hardig, MFMG Executive Director, as they are honored for 46 years of selfless service to the kingdom. They will also be commissioned into their new position as MFM Global Ambassadors.  We are so grateful for their example and investment in our lives.   Kent Eller will move into the Executive Director position as of July 1.  Please pray for them as they transition into this new roles.  Doug will lead a team of 7 men to Cuba this Saturday.  They will be serving in a new city and doing evangelism while training the local church members.   While in Cuba, Doug will also have an opportunity to meet-up with a brother in Christ from the Dominican Republic, who is very interested in starting Men For Missions in his country.   Pray for the team June 22 - 29  1.  Praise the Lord for his healing hand on our family!  2.  Pray for the annual meetings at OMS this week. 3.  Pray for the team leaving for Cuba on Saturday. Praise the Lord that they received their religious visas! Pray that they will not have to purchase additional visas at the airport. 4.  Praise the Lord for wonderful birthday celebrations for David (27), Jude (2) and Jonathan (24).  5. Pray for MFM Global 5-30, as we all seek the Lord's leading of expanding MFM into additional countries. 6. Pray as evangelism teams to Colombia in 2020 are being scheduled. 7. Pray for the Men For Missions leaders in Latin America: Colombia - Jonathan Tobón Cuba - Alan Quesada 8. Pray for Doug as he prepares a message for Upper Room Bible Church on July 7.  Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world.
