Dear Prayer Warriors,

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8

"Here We Go!" The famous three words that continually echo in the minds of MFM staff members as we prepare teams, lead teams, greet teams on the field and ultimately return teams to their home. However in 2020, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and months turned into a year, and we no longer heard that cheerful charge as a global pandemic crippled our overseas short-term mission trips.

Then in April 2021, we heard those precious famous words "Here We Go!" as our MFM staff set out to serve alongside Fuller Rebuilders in New Bern, North Carolina. What a unique opportunity we had to serve together as a staff to help rebuild the home of a purple heart veteran and his family whose home was damaged in Hurricane Florence. Did you know that the MFM staff is equipped with an electrician, a plumber, finishers, painters, landscapers, lumberjacks, crawl space cleaners and so much more?

The MFM staff represent eight states, so it's not very often that the entire MFM staff are together for a week. We all knew that we had to be intentional with the gift of every moment that we had together. Our mornings and evenings were filled with a devotional type of workshop that guided us into a time of asking God for direction on moving MFM forward in a post-Covid era.

The Bible passage for the week was 2 Kings 4:1-7. Following the example of the widow, we took time to cry out to the Lord asking Him for the things that we need in order to continue ministry. Then, we answered Elisha's question of "What do you already have?" as we identified our oil which represented the resources that God has given MFM. We were then tasked with collecting and labeling jars with the things that need a supernatural filling. Our staff then shared some special time of prayer asking God to supernaturally fill our jars.

As we wait patiently for countries to open their borders, we continue to plan and prepare for new opportunities to DO, GO, and GIVE as we hear God say, "Here We Go!"  Here we go into our own sphere of influence, here we go into our families, here we go into our churches, and here we go into our communities.  As we obey, we will begin to see God forming ACTSion groups, and the command of Acts 1:8 to be His witnesses in our Jerusalem, our Judea, our Samaria and the ends of the earth will be revived in our hearts once again.

Thank you for your faithful support to us. We are grateful!

Blessings to you,
Doug & Cindy
Gibson City - An ACTSion Group Example

Doug was born and raised in Gibson City, Illinois. We raised our boys in Gibson City until we were called to the mission field. Our sending church is in Gibson City. Family and life long friends reside in Gibson City. Gibson City is near and dear to our hearts for so many reasons.

In this designated no flood plain town, there were torrential rains (9-11 inches in 6 hours) flooding this town like never before in its history. It's been two weeks and the water has receded but the damage is devastating.

Members of this community and surrounding communities went into ACTSion! For two weeks, they loved, cared, provided for and encouraged one another during what many would say was the most difficult days of their life.

Now it's our turn to move into ACTSion. Let's come alongside these precious people and assist them in the recovery efforts. Gather your ACTSion group and let us know when you are available to serve in Gibson City, Illinois.
Praying & Planning for ACTSion

In June, we had a wonderful opportunity to attend the MFM Cabinet meetings in Greenwood, IN. It was so good to be in person again thanking, praying and seeking God together.

ACTSion Challenge

Last month many of our staff got together for some important strategic discussion about how to engage men and their families in active Kingdom work within their own sphere of influence. If you're familiar with Acts 1:8, then you know that Jesus gave His disciples, and us, a very clear directive to be His witness everywhere we go. MFM has been challenging men and their families with completing the last part of Acts 1:8 since 1954. Many times these people have come back from "the ends of the earth" with a new passion for their "Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria." Now though, especially with the challenges of travel, God has given us a new opportunity and challenge to be His ambassadors in our own home areas. We hope to grow ACTSion groups of people who will use their talents and testimony to love on their neighbors and grow in discipleship along the way.
ACTSion Support

Men For Missions has launched a new website and we'd love for you to check it out by clicking the rocket.
A MFM phone app is also currently in the making and we hope to share that with you soon.

We thank God for Mykaela Alvey who joined the MFM staff. Her gifts and talents as a Communication Specialist have greatly enhanced our team and are a huge support to ministries at MFM.
1. Praise the Lord for over 15 years of service with One Mission Society.

2.  Praise the Lord for $4,872.50 that we received to our support account through the Homeland Funding Assistance Program for matching funds of new donors, special one time gifts and increase monthly donation. Praise the Lord for a healthy support account!

3. We've met with several potential ministry partners and asking God to develop these new relationships for His purposes and glory. Pray for vision trips to Dominican Republic and Albania before the end of 2021.

4.  Pray for Gibson City, Illinois as relief efforts come to an end and recovery efforts begin.
