Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update

March 2021

Dear Prayer Warriors,

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20

Hello Spring!

As we write, we know that Spring is coming! It doesn't look like it here today, as the cold and windy rains continue to saturate the ground, but we know it's coming. We see small signs of daffodil buds, a yard full of singing birds and chipmunks scurrying about the yard.

As we prepare our hearts for Easter, we rejoice in the promise that Jesus will return. God is always up to something good, even when we don't feel it or see it. He is a good, good, faithful father and His promises are true!

Thank you so much for your sustaining prayers. We are grateful for the renewal and refreshment that God brings to us each season of our lives.

Blessings,
Doug & Cindy
Mission Emphasis Weekend at
Gibson City Bible Church

We're so excited to be "going home" to our sending church for a special mission emphasis service on Sunday, March 21. One Mission Society president, Bob Fetherlin, will bring the message and we'll join many other missionaries in sharing what God is doing around the world.
If you're in the area, we'd love for you to join us.
Hurricane Relief Trip to North Carolina

This is another answer to prayer, and another one of the positive ministry opportunities due to COVID-19.

Normally, our MFM staff is swamped with the preparations for leading overseas short-term mission teams. However, as we remain a bit grounded to serving here in the USA, Men for Missions is identifying new ministry opportunities within our borders.

MFM is now partnering with
Fuller Disaster ReBuilders to continue providing hurricane disaster relief in both North Carolina and Louisiana.  On April 5-11 we will be participating with our other MFM staff as we continue with restoration efforts in New Bern, North Carolina.  We will be sharing of additional ministry opportunities to serve upon our return.

Pray for our team as we serve together on our home field.
Homeland Missionary Funding Program

We are excited about a new incentive program to help homeland missionaries raise their support. This program will make a one time match for any new monthly gifts, increased gifts by current monthly donors or special one-time gifts. Please pray that we will be able to raise additional support to cover our $700 monthly deficit.

PRAISE UPDATE:
Since January 2021, we've received 2 new monthly donors, 1 increase in monthly giving and $4,000+ in special one-time gifts.
We Graduated - DWJD!

We have been wanting to take this class for the past 3 years. Our COVID schedules finally allowed us to commit to this 18 week course and we graduated this week. It was a sweet time of fellowship as well as time to sharpen some of our ministry tools for evangelism, hearing from God, praying for people, spiritual warfare and more.
It's our prayer that we will all be able to hear what God hears, see what God sees and love like God loves so that we can Do What Jesus Did!
1. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in our marriage of 34 years!

2. Pray for home sending church GCBC and their special mission emphasis service on March 21st.

3. Pray for the MFM staff team as we serve together in North Carolina April 5 - 11.

4. Pray for our Latin American partners. Pray especially for God's miraculous provisions for the Cuban people and churches.

5. Pray for direction, wisdom and an openness to see new ways to come alongside our US and Latin American partners.
Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world.

Mission:  Men for Missions challenges men to Do, Go and Give in total obedience to Jesus Christ.

May you be encouraged by how God is using the gifts, talents and resources of laymen around the world.
