Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser September 2022 Dear Prayer Warriors, Last Fall, our small group began an eight-month intensive study on the seven churches in Revelation, reviewing its relevancy then and how the church body should be relevant today.  A reoccurring concept since that time, has been the warning that Jesus gave to the church of Ephesus. Revelation 2:4 says, "But I have this against you, You have abandoned your first love." Kay Arthur said, "It can be so easy to get into a routine of Christianity - serving the Lord out of duty until you lose the fervency and sacrificial dedication of love. Christianity can become a performance without passion...and people can tell. And if people can tell, don't you know that Christ, the Lover of your soul, can tell?" We're so thankful for God's word and how the Lord teaches and gently reminds us of those areas in our hearts that need immediate attention. May love's fervor, love's sacrifice and love's obedience always be abounding in our lives and the church.  Thank you so much for your faithfulness to us and this ministry! You bless us GREATLY! Blessings, Doug & Cindy Cindy's Mom (in the middle) We realize that you don't always have specifics when you pray for us, but your prayers for our family have been heard. In July, Cindy's mom relocated to a memory care unit to get the full time care that she needs due to Dementia. God was incredibly gracious with His peace and provisions during the transition.    Peńa de Horeb ~ Spain Daniel & Gail Castro, OMS missionaries, are pictured in the center and run the 40 year old OMS camp in Spain. When staff didn't return after COVID, they sent out an urgent plea for volunteers to help serve during their intense summer schedule of campers. Pictured is our international team representing, Scotland, Australia, Colombia, Britain and USA. Cindy is planning to return next summer. Please pray and plan now to join her.  (Click picture to see a Youtube video for the camp) Doug Postpones Trips We rejoice in answered prayer that travel has opened up, and Doug's travel schedule this year proves it. However, he has had two trips that needed to be postponed. Most recently, Hurricane Fiona cancelled his trip to Puerto Rico this month, but has led to potential opportunities for MFM support and relief teams. Doug and a newly forming team is now planning to depart 11/29-12/3.  Please pray that MFM can raise additional relief and rebuilding trips in the near future.  Upper Room Bible Church Mission Conference We're so thankful for the Upper Room Bible Church and the opportunities we had to visit dear friends and make new ones. It was very exciting to see three people willing to take a huge step of faith to begin exploring the missionary process that we remember so vividly 18 years ago. What a refreshing walk down memory lane.   Please pray for Ben, Megan & Austin.   Family Vacation When you pray, God will make a way. We're grateful for the blessing to have had the whole family together for a few days in Wisconsin. Please pray for David & Erin as they prepare to welcome their third baby in February 2023. Please pray for Jonathan as he begins the application process with OMS.  (click picture to read Jonathan's testimony in the current issue of OMS Outreach magazine, pgs 16-17) 1. Praise the Lord that travel is picking up!! MFM had 25 Teams to 10 countries w/175 people to date this year and more are ready to depart! Pray for Colombian evangelism team Oct. 1-8 2. Pray for Doug and the MFM team traveling to Albania October 11-18. 3. Pray for Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic as they recover from Hurricane Fiona.  4. Pray for MFM Cuba as they prepare and plan for helping their ministry friends in Pinar del Rio, Cuba.  This already frail community has been completely devastated by Hurricane Ian. 5. Please pray for the Florida residents in the crosshairs of Hurricane Ian.  This includes many of our family members including Doug's sister and her family that live near Tampa and Sarasota     Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world.
