City of Eternal Spring!

Medellín, Colombia

In one month we will begin our third missionary term as we depart for Medellín, Colombia.  However, prior to this we must first graduate from language school here in Costa Rica on Friday, and return to the US on Saturday.  We also have plans to attend our nephew's wedding in Florida, visit family, friends, and churches in Illinois, spend some time with our kids David & Erin in Kentucky, and appear before the Colombian Consulate in Chicago for visa approval.

Please continue to pray for our visa paperwork.  It has been delayed multiple times and we still do not have the papers needed to appear before the consulate.  Please pray that these papers will arrive soon from Colombia and that we would be granted at least a two-year visa before our departure on May 20.

Our final weeks in Costa Rica changed with a visit from our son, Jonathan.  Upon his arrival, he was able to receive some needed medical care and has been recuperating the last couple of weeks.  We will all be flying back together, and arrive in Bloomington, Il on April 25.  Thank you so much for remembering to pray for our kids.  It doesn't matter how old they are, it's difficult to be away from family!

Life is unpredictable, uncontrollable and unknown, especially in time of transition, but we are able to thank God for His faithfulness to us.  Just as He provided manna for the Israelites EACH DAY, he provides for us each day.  He doesn't want us to store things up, because we can loose our dependency upon him and rely on our own self sufficiency.  There are things such as peace, wisdom, patience and grace that can not be stored up and are only given on an "as needed" basis (for the day).  Praying that we can all know and trust in the dependency on God, who is so incredibly faithful.

Blessings to you,
Doug & Cindy
