Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser July 2022 Dear Prayer Warriors, For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations. Isaiah 61:11 Thank you for all you do to support us and the growing ministries of One Mission Society & Men For Missions.  We're so excited to see new life spring forth in our ministries as countries open up from a 2 year shutdown and we continue to make our way out of this Covid collaspe. The needs are plentiful and we have several short-term mission opportunities. Please pray that God will send forth laborers and if that's you, we'd love for you to join us.  We are grateful for your faithful giving and sustaining prayers.  Blessings, Doug & Cindy Dominican Republic - Round #2 One of the highlights of our last trip to the DR was to enjoy a lunch with Haitian pastors and their wives. Our missionary host is Jaime, who is a Nicaraguan serving Haitian immigrants in the DR. We spent several days meeting with pastors and looking for ways that we can come alongside them in what God is calling them to do. MFM Staff Work Team - Lake Charles, LA These are our peeps! We're missing a few but what a joy it is to serve together during our annual staff meetings.  We partnered with Fuller Disaster Rebuilders and worked on three homes that needed repair from back to back hurricanes Delta and Rita. There's still a lot of work to be done. If you'd like to serve on a stateside team, there are many options for you.  Gibson City Bible Church VBS Cindy jumped at the offer to assist with Vacation Bible School to work directly with a group of Latino children and helpers. There were five Spanish speaking countries represented within this group. We're thankful how God can bring the nations to us in surprisingly unique ways. Cindy was abundantly blessed by the endless hospitality of her dear friends during the week-long stay in Gibson City.  Please pray for Jeremy, a 4th grader, who gave his heart to Jesus. What he did that day will change the world around him.  MFM-USA Cabinet Meetings (AKA - Family Reunion) We had wonderful meetings at OMS headquarters. It started with a beautiful service to install our new OMS president, Jeff Edwards. Please pray for him and his wife, Laura as they officially began July 1. Cindy prepared and led devotion and prayer time with the ladies while Doug and the men worked through their agenda of reports. What a sweet time of fellowship we always have together and we were honored to have MFM board representatives from Canada and Scotland.  We're grateful to the men and women who give of their time and resources to serve on the MFM-USA Cabinet.  Jonathan's Italy Trip Jonathan's was completely in awe at the overwhelming support he received for his mission trip to Italy. God orchestrated many opportunities for him to share his testimony, speak in Spanish and use his handyman skills. Thank you to each one that responded through your giving and prayer support. Please pray for direction as he desires to serve overseas in a Spanish speaking country.  1.  Pray as we prepare for upcoming travel to Wisconsin (vacation), Spain, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Albania & Charleston SC.  2.  Cindy is leading a team to Spain to serve in the kitchen and around the grounds at an OMS camp. There's still room on the team if you would like to join her August 20 - September 3. You can serve for 1 week, 10 days or 2 weeks.  3.  Pray for our MFM Cuban leaders and their families as they make some personal and ministry transitions.  4. Pray for the families of MFM. There are many situations in which we need God to do what only He can do.  5. Pray for MFM leadership as we work to reach the next generation. 6. Please pray that we can provide team members for the many short-term team opportunities (listed below).   Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world. Urgent Need in Hungary

Driver's Needed in April April 1, 2022 One Mission Society missionaries in Hungary have been working to get food into Ukraine since the war began. They have an urgent need for drivers during the month of April.   They are sourcing food from various locations in country and taking it to partners. Not everyone has to cross the border, but some drivers will need to cross. They are then unloading across the border. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they start in Budapest, deliver the loads and then return to a nearby town to refill the vans. Then they stay the evening at the house at the border. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, they take the load from the night before and head back to Budapest. Not everyone has to do every run, but if you're coming for 8 days or so, it's helpful. The vans are full-sized and manual transmission. So, it's very helpful if you have experience with this type of van.  Estimated trip costs are $1,200 (price of ticket to Budapest). You're food, lodging and transportation costs are covered. If this is your first time serving with Men For Missions, you will receive $150 towards your total costs. Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser March 2022 Dear Prayer Warriors, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 LIVING HOPE - OUR LIVING HOPE!  We can't imagine life without it! We would be as good as dead without reading about Jesus everyday, without talking to Jesus throughout the day, without depending on Jesus for everything we need, and without having Jesus lead us in His ways and by His truth. We can't imagine a life without Jesus, OUR LIVING HOPE! To the believer, every single day is Easter Sunday. Join us in rejoicing that we love and serve a Risen Savior. He's Alive! Thank you for your faithful encouragement and support to us. We can't imagine this ministry without you.  Easter Blessings, Doug & Cindy Men for Missions USA Cabinet Meetings  (We're actually missing a few)   We're are thankful for the men who commit to serve on the MFM USA Cabinet and we're very grateful for their wives who encourage and support their involvement.  Cindy has accepted the invitation to plan and prepare the ladies' agenda for future cabinet meetings. She really enjoys utilizing her gift of hospitality in this way. The USA cabinet meets twice a year, so pray for her as she prepares devotions and prayer time for the June meetings.  After we returned home from the January meetings, we became a COVID statistic. Thankfully, we had mild symptoms and didn't require any medical attention.  Jesus Film Project in Cuba (Click picture for more info on Jesus Film Project)   This backpack is a priceless tool for the MFM team in Cuba. They have committed to showing the Jesus Film 50 times each year. However, getting it to Cuba has been a challenge. So, when we found out that the Cuban MFM director was going to be in Dominican Republic, we made plans to deliver it to him in the DR.   Please pray for the safe and timely delivery of this backpack into Cuba. Please continue to pray for our Cuban brothers and sisters during these very difficult days. Quite a Diverse Vision/Prayer Team   Cubans, Dominicans, Americans and a Nicaraguan come together to make plans to serve alongside Haitian pastors in the Dominican Republic. We met with a group of people and church pastors about MFM and reaching men in their communities near the Haiti border. They see this as a huge need, as many of the churches have many women and few men.  We also met with a church in Santo Domingo that is doing an amazing ministry as a church. They have outreach to the elderly, homeless, and a school for kids as well as kids with special needs.  Pray that God will show us how to best come alongside these servants to help them do what God is calling them to do.  We return in three weeks to meet with more Haitian pastors and learn about their life and ministry in the DR.  Jonathan will Serve in Italy   Jonathan will be going on his first short-term mission trip with OMS on May 20-28. He will travel to Catania, Italy to do evangelism and discipleship among African refugees.  Please pray for this special time of preparation. Praise the Lord that for the first time in 16 years, we are 100% funded! We are continually grateful for each and every supporter that God provides.  3. Praise the Lord for many incredible opportunities and new relationships in the Dominican Republic.  Pray for our return trip on April 21-25.  4. Pray for MFM staff meetings as we meet and serve together in Lake Charles, LA with hurricane relief projects May 14-21. 5. Pray for air travel to remain open as we prepare for multiple international meetings and visits to various countries. 6. Praise the Lord for 35 years of marriage. We're thankful for a week away with our toes in the chilled Florida sand.  Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world.
