Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser January 2025 Dear Prayer Warriors, As we reflect on the year gone by, we are reminded of all the moments we've pondered and treasured in our hearts. God has graciously blessed us, our family, and our ministry in abundance. We are so thankful for you, your friendship, and the privilege of serving in God's kingdom together. This year, Men for Missions sent 38 teams to 7 countries, with 274 participants. One of the highlights of 2024 was leading an international team to Spain. With 8 countries represented, it felt like we were given a small glimpse of heaven on earth. Throughout the year, we made monthly trips to OMS headquarters in Greenwood, IN. It was such a blessing to work closely with the OMS/MFM staff and to spend time with our son, Jonathan and his new bride, Angelique, who were married in August at Glacier National Park and now live in Indianapolis. On our way back to Peoria, we often stopped to visit Doug's mom in Gibson City. We were always welcomed home in Peoria by David, Erin, and their 3 boys.  We are incredibly grateful for your faithful support throughout this year. Many of you give generously, others pray regularly, and so many of you show us love and care in special ways. For all of it, we are deeply thankful. May 2025 be filled with God's HOPE, JOY and PEACE for you and your family! With blessings and gratitude, Doug & Cindy Mexico Trip (before and after pictures) Thank you for praying for Cindy and the team that went to serve the Kids at the Casa in Mexico. One of the main tasks to clean, sort and organize the donation room was an overwhelming challenge. There were 5 women that worked for 5 days and the results were amazing. We had the joy of eating meals, attending church services and playing with the 23 kids that call the Casa their home.  Please pray for MFM regional directors, Al & Sandy Gaines, as they continue to lead ministry teams to Kids at the Casa. https://kidsatthecasa.com/   MFM Staff Daily Devotions This year MFM staff are reading A Day with the Master by Dennis Kinlaw. Here's our prayer from Day 1 using Kinlaw's words: Father, we pray for fresh and new resources that can enable us to claim a measure of effectiveness and fulfillment that we have not yet know in our marriages, families, ministries and our relationship with you and each other. Turn our faces towards the future and mark us with confidence and expections. Amen   1. Pray for USA Cabinet meetings in Waco, Texas on January 9-12. 2. Our monthly visits to headquarters will continue until on-campus housing becomes available. Please pray for our time together January 14-21. Pray for God's perfect timing in our relocation to Greenwood, IN.  3. We're excited to attend Avon Park Camp from February 2-9. We're not speaking or working. Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser November 2024 Dear Prayer Warriors, For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Jigsaw puzzles fit nicely as metaphors for the Christian life. We think about how all those scattered pieces have no form or meaning, but once they are put together a beautiful picture emerges – much the way the Lord takes the pieces of our lives and makes something wonderful of them. We can't imagine at the time how all of the varied circumstances, both good and difficult, could possibly amount to anything until we one day will see them from the Father's vantage point and how they have come together perfectly.   There is a Godly fit for everyone wanting to serve the Lord. You have a special place in kingdom work. You've been given gifts, talents, resources, passions and burdens. God has prepared you and a place for you to fit perfectly in His big picture.  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) As the Men for Missions Global cabinet gathered together, the ladies prayed these scriptures over the men, their families and the work of MFM. We're grateful for each one and the call on their lives to serve in their sphere of influence and around the world.  Here's a verse that we like to pray over you: We have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in our prayers. We keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. We pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  (Ephesians 1:16-19)   We're so thankful for your perfect fit into our lives and ministry. Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support to us. Blessings, Doug & Cindy MFM USA (Greenwood, IN) was blessed and honored to host the Canadian cabinet meetings. They gathered to praise, pray, plan and prepare for 2025.  Pray for Kyle Martin, the Canadian National Director, as he leads.  The blessings of hosting continued as the MFM Global cabinet met for their meetings. Incredible reports from all over the world were shared. We toured One Mission Society, shared meals, stories, laughed until our bellies hurt, and left with our hearts encouraged and expectant to see all that God will do through MFM in 2025.  Pray for the MFM global leaders as they serve together in kingdom work.  MFM Ladies This precious community of women encourage and support one another as we laugh, cry and pray together.  What a privilege it is for us to support the men of MFM.  We remembered and celebrated God's faithfulness with a trip to the Ark Encounter. We highly recommend visiting the ark.  I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. We thank the Lord for his protection, as we have spent more than 4 1/2 months away from home this year. 5. Pray for us as we consider a move (#23) to Greenwood, in order to spend more time at the OMS headquarters and MFM office. 6. Praise the Lord for the 70th Anniversary of Men for Missions!   7. Praise the Lord for our US, Canadian, and UK cabinet members and their wives, as well as our MFM staff, volunteers, and national partners. We are so very blessed to serve with such an incredible team all over the world.
