Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser October 2015 Dear Prayer Warriors, Here's a follow up report and testimonies from our most recent door to door evangelism team: Villa Hermosa Church: Pastor: Fredy Lopera - 20 follow up visits, 12 in discipleship classes and 5 new house groups started Testimony: Two youth that were evangelized were involved in drugs and God liberated them from drugs and are now in discipleship classes. 12 de Octubre Church: Pastor: Jose Luis - 25 follow up visits  and 16 in discipleship classes Testimony: One young person was involved in drugs and God made a change in his life and he is asking for restoration in his home. The church leaders that took part in the visitations have dedicated themselves and are meeting every week in training and are in the process of meeting with person that made decisions for Christ. La Gabriel Church: Pastor: Jaira Vargas - 30 follow up visits, 15 in discipleship classes and 5 new house churches planted Testimony: We give thanks to God for the ministry that the visiting missionaries did and has motivated the leaders in the church to work in evangelism and already are evangelizing other communities. Barbosa Church: Pastor: Jorge -  50 follow up visits, 18 in discipleship classes, 15 are attending the services on Sunday and 6 house church planted Testimony: Some of the people that live in apartments where the missionaries visited are being disciple and are attending the church service. They are using the evangecube every Sunday to evangelize. Bello Church: Pastor: Marta - 60 follow up visits, 20 in discipleship classes, 20 people are attending the church and 6 new house churches planted Testimony: We (Doug and Cindy) had the blessing of attending service in Bello last Sunday (10/4).  The Bello church has located and rented a building in a highly commercialized area, and with over 50 in attendance, they have already outgrown this location and are searching for another.  Please pray for them as they search for a new location and find something that they can afford to rent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for your prayers and partnership with us. Please continue to pray for those brothers and sisters in Medellin, Colombia that they will continue to grow more in their relationship with Christ and that they will continue to go and reach other people. Doug and Cindy Beautifully Broken ~ Pastor's Wives Conference   Dynamic Women in Missions, a ministry of OMS, and IGLEICO partnered with two conferences: one to encourage pastor's wives and another to encourage women leaders in the church, ministering to over 100 women.   We realize that you may not always know exactly what to pray for, but through every prayer offered, God knows exactly how to answer.  Please consider praying for your pastor's wife and do something special to bless her this month.  You could very well be the special touch from God that she needs.  Men For Missions Visionary Prayer Team   We had a great time with Kent Eller, Men For Missions National Director and his team. They came seeking God's direction for their future service.  They came with a simple willingness of how they can best come alongside IGLEICO and help them do what God is calling them to do.  That's what partnerships are all about. OMS has incredible partners around the world and we are so thankful to be working with one of them.   Always Something to Celebrate in Colombia   September is the only month without an official holiday but as you can see, there was still much to celebrate: Birthdays, the Williams family arrival, large avocados, Secret Pal lunch and the weekly bicycle parade.  Each comes with their own unique story, but we'll let you use your imagination.  1.  David & Erin will be relocating to Peoria, IL from Wilmore, KY in mid-October.  Please pray for them during this time of transition.  They are thrilled to be closer to family.  2.  October 24 - 31 MFM Evangelism team 3.  English classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays   Click here for more information on how you can go on a short term mission trip this year.  We'd love to have you come to Colombia. Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser September 2015 Dear Prayer Warriors, Baptism ~ Do you remember when you were baptized?  The day you publicly professed that Jesus Christ was your Lord and Savior.  What a joy it is for us to be invited to attend these special celebrations of new-birth in Christ.  Earlier in August, we were blessed to travel to an area north of El Peñol where the Igleico church of Itagüi baptized four new believers.  As always, it was wonderful to hear their testimonies in how Christ had transformed their lives, and they were excited about publicly professing their belief and personal relationship with Jesus. Please pray for these new believers and that they will continue to draw closer to Jesus each day and boldly share with others about their new eternal Hope they have in Jesus Christ   August - Missions Month in Colombia Many of the 700+ IGLEICO churches united themselves during the "Month of Missions".  It was our first opportunity in Colombia to publicly share about our call to serve God and the reasons for which we are here.  Please pray for those that God is calling, and pray for IGLEICO as they seek to prepare and send them.   Our English classes continue on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  We've incorporated songs, games and some "friendly" competition.  It has been and continues to be one of the ways that God is building our relationships with each other.  This team has been such a blessing to us.  The Williams Family is coming! We are so excited to be growing our OMS family here in Medellín, and we must confess that we are also looking forward to having some English speakers here too.  For the first month they will be temporarily packed into a 2 bedroom apartment as they explore the area and look for additional housing options.  Please pray for this precious family and that God would bind us all together with His abundant love. And please pray for them as they adjust to a new city, new country, and new ministry. IGLEICO Baby Shower Jhon Edwar, IGLEICO treasurer and his wife, Melissa, are expecting their first child in October.  Events like this is such a good way to learn culture and share in lots of laughter.  Jhon is also our pastor where we are attending church.  Please pray for them as they get ready to welcome their new little boy. September 5-10 Cindy flies to Bogotá this Saturday to help with an OMS-Dynamic Women's Conference in Boyacá for pastor's wives and women leaders in the church.  September 10-15 Kent Eller - National Director of Men for Missions arrives with 3 other team members.  We will be visiting with Igleico leadership to discuss how MFM might be able to better support their ministries and future plans. We will also be visiting some areas of ministry, as well as some 2nd and 3rd generation house churches that have resulted from previous MFM Evangelism teams. September 15 ~ The Williams family arrives.
