We're Back!

Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser September 2016 Thank you so much for your prayers during our time in the USA and as we have returned to Medellin.  It was so good to be with so many of you:  to see you, hug you, share a meal with you, spend time with you, and simply receive your love and support in person.  For those that we didn't get to see, you were greatly missed! Here are just a few highlights of our time with family. Within a week of returning to Medellin, we were participating with Dynamic Women in Missions and 2 local churches in a medical clinic. We were thrilled that the pharmacist returned from last year and brought an assistant. Thank you Susan and Shirl for serving in Colombia.  They filled the prescriptions and we explained how to take them to over 760 patients in 4 days.  The local church members prayed and shared the Gospel of Jesus with each one.  We trust God with all the healing results both physically and spiritually.  *Many elderly were in great need of reading glasses. If you have any old readers that you would like to donate, please let us know.  To date, we had the largest response to our English fiesta this month. Our usually space wasn't available to rent, so here we are crammed into our very cozy apartment (Doug, Cindy and Jorge are not pictured) with a new record of 17 people in our home.    We welcomed several new translators with lots of games, chili cheese dogs and candy prizes.  It's always a cultural experience, too! *Many of our translators would love to have any English Bible or a bilingual Bible.  If you have one that you are willing to donate, please let us know.  Doug left this morning for Cuba with Kent, Warren and Rich. They will be sharing how they can partner with them to do MFM and help them send teams to other countries as well as within the country.  Please pray for them to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading as they have conversations and meet with men that they hope to come alongside.    1. Praising God for His mighty hand of protection and provisions as we traveled 3,300 during our time in the USA.  2. Praising God for much needed time with family. Seperation is not getting any easier!  3. Pray for wisdom as we begin to schedule 2017 teams coming in and going out of Colombia. 4. Pray for Doug as he, Kent and Warren are in Cuba this week.   5. HMA - We Can't Wait!!

Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love, serve one another.  Galatians 5:13 Dear Prayer Warriors, We are so excited about our mini HMA (Home Ministry Assignment).  We are thrilled to be able to share about what God has done and is doing in Colombia, and seeing as many of you as we can.  Here's our schedule where we will be sharing if you happen to be in the area: July 10 - Upper Room Bible Church - Paxton July 24 - Gibson City Bible Church July 31 - Gibson City United Methodist Church 8:45 & 11:00 August 1 & 2 - Men for Missions Staff meetings - Greenwood August 7 - Fame Evangelical Church - Moweaqua Blessings to You! Doug & Cindy This month, we had the privilege of delivering Bibles, donated by Men For Missions Canada, to several churches that hosted evangelism teams.  It was a wonderful opportunity to encourage them and be encouraged by the reports of how they are growing and moving forward (photo in Villa Hermosa).  Bibles will also be distributed by our door-to-door evangelism teams to those that do not have a bible in their home.  These are four pastors that will be hosting evangelism teams in September. It was exciting to meet and pray with them before the team arrives as well as share about Men For Missions. We pray that their next steps will be to lead their own teams on their own Men For Missions trip. Please pray for them, their communities and their preparations. Our English Fiestas continue each month as we seek to invest in our team translators. This month, we toured a small Colombian Coffee Farm in English. What a blessing it was to watch them embrace such a rich heritage of their country for the first time. The views were spectacular, too!!  We have officially launched preparations for sending US/Canada teams outside of Medellin into Bogota and Cartagena in 2017.  Join Satura & MFM in prayer as they begin identifying translators and building the foundation for receiving teams.  1. The great reports continue from the OMS conference, Board Meetings, and MFM Cabinet meetings.  Thank you for praying! 2. Pray as we travel on Thursday, July 7 3. Pray for our time to reconnect with family and friends.
