Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser January 2020 Dear Prayer Warriors, Happy New Year!   "Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see."  Hebrews 11:1   You may or may not know that back in 1985, Doug and I were a blind date.  If we were honest, words such as confidence, hope and assurance would not have been used to describe the moments before we met.  However, in hindsight, we can certainly use those words to describe God's plans for us and in how He has grown our faith.  We have confidence in God, hope in God, and assurance in God, which grows our faith each and every day.     As we come to the end of a year and the end of a decade, we take time to look back to see God's faithfulness in our lives and our ministries.  It's His faithfulness that produces our overflowing grateful and thankful hearts.  It's His faithfulness that gives us confidence, hope and assurance for all the things that we will see in 2020.     We're so thankful for you and your loving support to us as we continue to serve as OMS missionaries with Men For Missions.  Thank you for your prayers that sustain our ministry. God is faithful through you!    May 2020 be filled with God's abundant blessings for you and your family.     Blessings, Doug & Cindy MFM Cabinet Meetings January 9 - 12 ~ Texas We had the privilege of attending the MFM USA cabinet meetings.  Men and women from all over the USA came together to give God thanks for all He has done in MFM and to seek Him as we move forth in 2020. We are very thankful for each one that willingly and joyfully serves on the cabinet board.  We are praying for clear 20-20 vision in 2020 that only the Lord can provide. Cindy had an encouraging time with the ladies in devotion time, prayer and sweet fellowship.   February Travel Our work continues with G5-30!  Expanding MFM into 30 countries within the next 5 years.  We are rejoicing in the 15 countries that the Lord has provided for expansion this year.   Doug travels to Nicaragua and El Salvador in February to meet with potential ministry partners.   Please pray for him and the MFM team that God is putting together.   Teams for 2020 We're excited to be leading several teams into Cuba and Dominican Republic this year.  It's crucial for the teams to Cuba to obtain religious ministry visas.   Please pray that each of these teams will be granted their visas.   We're also looking for team members to join us to the Dominican Republic. Team dates are:   August 22 - 29 November 7-14 Do you want to go to the Olympics in Tokyo?   MFM is preparing for a 2 week evangelism team: July 26 - August 8.   Please remember to pray for the 8 teams evangelizing in Colombia this year as well. What a JOY! We're so thankful for our family and the time that we were able to share together during the Christmas holiday.  Here's Cindy and her mom attending the Christmas program at Northwoods Community Church.  We rejoice in 1878 people that gave their heart to Jesus during the 11 performances. What a joy it is to be part of a church with such a strong evangelistic heartbeat.       1.  Praising God for so many blessings this past year! 2.  Pray for Doug's travels to Nicaragua and El  Salvador in February. 3.  Pray for the evangelism teams to Colombia beginning on February 15!   4.  Pray for the Cuban Visas needed for our March team. 5.  Please pray for open airways, as we have many overseas travels this year.   6.  Pray for the continued expansion of Men For Mission's G5-30.  More on this in our February Update. Vision:  Our goal is the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each person's life, at home and around the world. Tankersley Praise & Prayer Update View this email in your browser November 2019 Dear Prayer Warriors, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.  1 Corinthians 2:9   We are so very thankful for your prayer support to this ministry. Two of our faithful prayer warriors that have served with us since our calling in 2004, have relocated to heaven and we can't help but to feel a void with their absence. We share in the mourning with their families and celebrate their Godly example in our lives. We are so thankful for their love for the Lord and their willingness to serve alongside us with their prayers and giving. Each one of you is crucial to the work the Lord has called us to do and we thank God for you!   Thank you for praying for Doug's vision trip to the Dominican Republic (pictured above). God has opened many doors for Men For Missions. Doug had the opportunity to meet with pastors and leaders from several churches who are part of a network called Red Del Camino. They are a part of the "Red Del Camino" (which is a network of churches working together) as well as affiliated with Empowering Action.  While Doug was there, he shared the history, vision and mission of MFM, and they confirmed that they also had a great need to encourage men to "Get into the Game" and could see great value in having MFM in their country.  They are very interested in MFM and are requesting that we form and bring two teams in 2020. We trust that you are continuing to pray for Men For Mission Global and the 30 countries that God has prepared for us. It's been exciting to see God reveal some of these countries to us this year. We're looking forward to sharing more specifically about this expansion in our 2020 updates.    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Blessings, Doug & Cindy Saturation (Satura) Colombia   We're so thankful for the 7 evangelism teams of 38 short term team members that were willing to go and share their testimony and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Colombia, resulting in 2,409+ decisions for Jesus. Since MFM began sending evangelism teams in 2012 to support Satura, nearly 15,000 people have made decisions to accept Christ.  As each team returns, another community is equipped and prepared to continue the work.   Please remember to pray for Satura Colombia and the national workers.   Cuba We give God thanks for our Cuban partners and the opportunities we have been given to support the work that God has called them to do.  They have asked for 4 evangelism teams in 2020.   Please pray that each team will be granted the religious visas that are required to serve there. Doug recently received an update from the pastor where their evangelism team served in Cuba. He provided the following summary from our team being there: 35 church members (and youth) received training from our MFM team, All together, we made contact and visited with 214 people, 95 people received Christ, 58 of these new believers have continued with discipleship, 7 churches benefitted from our team being there, One of the ladies that prayed to receive Christ, died the following week, One of the local Pastor's dad (who accepted the Lord on our last day) continues to be excited and serving the Lord. MFM-Cuba continues to work in various communities in ways too numerous to share. They have been actively sharing the Gospel through video, serving the poor, traveling 6 hours each way by mule to the highlands to share the Gospel and teach the local churches about child sexual abuse and domestic abuse, as well as providing needed toys and supplies to those that have virtually nothing.  Most recently, the MFM team joined the men from a church in a neighboring city to install a roof for a poor widow.  MFM-Cuba is an excellent example of what MFM can do in various countries by providing laymen with the opportunity to Do, Go and Give while using their God-given gifts and talents.  We continue to have a need for Children's Bibles in Cuba.  If you are willing to donate to this project, please let us know and we'll send you additional information. 1.  Pray for the teams to receive religious visas to serve in Cuba. The first team in 2020 is March 14-21 2.  Praising the Lord for our faithful supporters! 3.  Rejoicing that Doug's mom continues to heal from her fall on July 4.  She is now settled in an assisted living center.   4.  Thank you for praying for our family.  Pray specifically that we would grow closer to God and closer to each other.
